The Origin Story

It started on a Tuesday. I needed to merge two PDF files.

I Googled "merge PDF free". The first result asked me to sign up. The second one tried to install a Chrome extension. The third one worked, but then told me I could only download the result if I paid $5.

I didn't want to sign up. I didn't want to pay. I didn't want to install adware.

I just wanted to merge two stupid files.

That rage—that pure, unadulterated hatred for the predatory state of online PDF tools—is the fuel that powers this website.

I built I HATE PDF to be the tool I needed that day. It's fast, it's free, and it doesn't ask you for anything. It just works.

If using this site saves you from throwing your laptop out the window, then my mission is accomplished.
